Brisbane's First Drivable Degustation Restaurant on Wheels

If you're looking for a unique dining experience, Da Biuso is one restaurant you don't want to miss. Created by the family behind the Casa Nostra Ristorante, this 12-seat degustation restaurant is housed in a converted Iveco school bus, equipped with everything you'd find in a high-end kitchen.

But what sets Da Biuso apart is its mobility, allowing the restaurant to move to picturesque locations, and special events, bringing the opulence of first-class dining to different parts of the city. For now though, Da Biuso is located at 230 Lancaster Road, Ascot Green, Ascot.

Having just launched, Da Biuso offers a Sicilian-inspired degustation menu, combining simple ingredients with inventive techniques to produce flavors that will leave you wanting more. The menu changes with the seasons, with dishes like oysters all'onda, duck-filled fagottini, and minestra di mare. And the experience doesn't end with the food. There’s a curated all-Italian wine list, some of which are exclusively sourced for the restaurant, alongside tantalising cocktails.

So what inspired the family to create a drivable degustation restaurant on wheels in the first place? As with many things, the pandemic played a role. With restrictions limiting the number of customers that could dine in at Casa Nostra, owner-operators Biagio and Sarah Biuso pivoted towards a degustation focus to deliver a higher form of service.

With it, guests regularly returned for more of their fine dining offerings. This overwhelming response inspired Biagio and Sarah to showcase their newly adopted degustation menu through a one-of-a-kind experience. As the lease at Casa Nostra was ending, and so Da Busio was born – albeit a year later, the roaming restaurant housed inside a converted bus, became a reality.

Da Biuso's interior design exudes a classic and elegant vibe that transports guests to a bygone era of luxurious dining carriages. The colour scheme of soft greys and creams, rich timber panelling, custom furnishings, creates a sensory experience that will make anyone feel as though they are dining in the lap of luxury.

While Da Biuso won't move during service, the restaurant will relocate to new locations throughout the year, giving guests the chance to indulge in its exquisite menu in various memorable settings.
