The Good Food & Wine Show 2019 Returns as your perfect Weekend Activity!

From Margaret River to the Barossa, McLaren Vale to Granite Belt, the Good Food & Wine Show, presented by Citi, is your ticket to explore the best in food and wine from across Australia. With over 500 wine varieties and more than 200 exhibitors, this year’s GFWS will take visitors on a sensory journey, with plenty to sip, sample and discover!

Landing in Brisbane on Friday 25th – Sunday 27th October the GFWS offers visitors a chance to be immersed in all things food and wine, see Australia’s Top chefs cook live or take a masterclass or two and learn from the experts!

Taking the stage in the Princess Cruises Theatre presented by ILVE is Matt Moran, Matt Golinski, Matt Sinclair and everyone’s favourite Spanish chef Miguel Maestre, who’s ‘Greatest Showman’ cooking demonstration is a not to be missed showstopper. Across three days these chefs will provide inspiration, education and entertainment in the 500-capacity theatre. While chef Alastair McLeod is back as host of these live cooking demonstrations.

Relax in the comfort of the VIP Lounge and enjoy premium wines from Margaret River, a delicious lunch designed by Matt Moran, complete with a Maggie Beer dessert. For something more intimate, visitors can enjoy a meal with their idol at the Chef’s Lunch; a three-course dining experience designed by celebrity chefs, with Australian wines to match and have the chance to ask their long-awaited questions during the Chef Q&A. Enjoy this exclusive experience, featuring the official homewares partner, Country Road, who will be styling the chefs Lunch and the Princess Cruises Theatre presented by ILVE.

Visitors will also get the opportunity to win a foodie adventure of their choice with Citi and GFWS providing a lucky winner the chance to decide between Rome, New York or Vietnam in their ‘Let’s Go Eat’ with Citi competition. Not to forget Citi cardholders should take advantage of their perks and enjoy express entry, a free wine tasting glass, special ticket offers and more!

Brisbane is in for a taste of Melbourne with the Truffle Melbourne truffle truck, Melbourne Gin Co and Marionette Liqueurs joining the Brisbane show for the first time. If you’re looking to shake things up, then a Matso’s Mixology masterclass is for you! All the way from Broome, Matso’s will be showing you how to up your cocktail making skills in a 30 minute lesson to watch, learn and taste how to mix Matso’s alcoholic Ginger Beer and their newly released Hard Lemon fruity brew into some classic cocktails you can make at home.

If you’re a wine enthusiast or just starting out on your wine journey, we have the masterclass just for you; learn from the experts in a range of fun and engaging masterclasses. Visit the Riedel Drinks Lab where you’ll discover the best from the shows wine exhibitors with free sessions running each day, from Let’s get Fizzical to Stop and smell the Rosé or pay a visit to the Wine Selectors Cellar Door to expand yourknow ledge from Bubblicious Brunch to Shiraz Sizzle, there is something for everyone’s palate.

Perhaps whisky is more your style! Then take a seat in the Glenfiddich Whisky Wanderer; a 1972 vintage Leyland bus converted into a premium whisky lounge on wheels. Where you can sample the world’s most awarded Whisky; Glenfiddich 12YO Single Malt or learn how to pair Whisky & Cheese!

Plus, escape to Margaret River without leaving the city at Cape Mentelle’s Cellar Door experience at this year’s show. Taste the classic varieties that made this region famous as well as some experimental wines normally only available when you visit the winery.

Looking to spice up your cooking skills, then the ‘Flavours Of India With Thermomix’ class is just for you. If you’ve got 30minutes to spare, then you can learn how to make traditional Chicken Korma. From roasting and grinding the spice mix, to hand-making roti bread, guests will walk away with a range of tips and tricks to create traditional Indian cuisine, along with their very own ‘Indian fakeaway’.

The international spice continues with masterclasses from, Taste of Peru, showcasing the making of Peruvian beef & potato stir fry, complete with cocktails made of Pisco!
