Regional Flavours 2021 Returns to Southbank with three epic events

Much loved foodie heaven and a Southbank favourite, Regional Flavours returns in 2021 as a tasty three part series across June to October! Save the dates below, ASAP!

Regional Flavours festival will offer a suite of new programs, immersive experiences, stallholder offerings and esteemed chefs and restaurateurs.

“Across the three months, food lovers will get the chance to explore our local and national culinary landscape and watch some of the country’s best chefs including Paul West, Alanna Sapwell and Louis Tikaram cook up a storm,” Lord Mayor Schrinner said.

The first event, Grazed and Grown taking place from 18 until 20 June looks to celebrate Australia’s incomparable landscape, our makers and pioneering chefs, with a focus on sustainability. There will be a specially curated stallholder marketplace, live music stages and talks with industry leaders, hosted by Matt Kirkegaard, where guests can take part in discussions and listen to local producers share their stories and insights on topical themes within the agriculture and farming industry. The coveted demonstration stage, The Kitchen, will also return and form part of the program, hosted by Alastair McLeod, Chef and TV personality.

Discover delightfully delectable bites and innovative ingredients in The Marketplace, filled with producers and artisans within 250km of Brisbane City. Laze amid the ambience of live music and riverfront views; delight in a locally brewed craft beer or a signature cocktail. Upgrade your ticket and indulge in an exclusively catered, Signature Event at River Quay and treat your taste buds to world- class flavours, showcasing local, sustainable produce.

Global Fiesta, the second event within the Regional Flavours series, will take place from 16 - 17 October (changed from the 20 - 22 Aug, due to recent lockdowns in South-East Queensland). Global Fiesta will celebrate International food trends and Australia’s rich multicultural DNA, by highlighting and supporting the diverse culinary offerings provided by South Bank retailers. Revel in roving performances, a colourful street party and a lively marketplace, showcasing international foods and craft. Take a spice tour through South Bank’s Epicurious Garden or dine with one of Australia’s most sought after chefs, in an exclusive, ticketed event, hosted in one of South Bank’s signature restaurants.

Providore Park concludes the series and will now take place in the first half of 2022. Providore Park will transform the Parklands into a delicatessen haven, celebrating wine, cheese, and chocolate. The event shines a light on South Bank’s iconic, alfresco setting ahead of the summer months and offers live music and exclusive masterclasses, specialising in cheese making, how to achieve the perfect platter and wine pairing, hosted by local talent and praised sommeliers. Sprawl across South Bank’s sun- dappled lawn and enjoy market- fare from carefully selected producers and artisans, complete with your best- loved drop. Swoon, sway and stay until sundown with live music throughout the day, complete with DJ sets at dusk.
