Welcome to Melrose. A Bali inspired rooftop restaurant and bar for escaping the ordinary

Melrose, the Venzin Group’s latest venture at the river end of Builmba’s Oxford Street, is one of Brisbane’s most anticipated openings of 2021 and comes hot on the heels of the group’s popular Darvella patisserie which opened at the end of 2020. Sitting above Darvella, Melrose was an idea born out of Giorgina Venzin and partner Chris Hollingsworth’s travels to Bali, helping us regular diners escape the ordinary, through its cuisine and ambience, at a time when overseas travel seems far out of reach.

Fortitude Valley has a new collective of bars led by the heritage refurbishment and renaming of The Prince Consort in Wickham Street. More recently known as The Elephant Arms Hotel, The Prince Consort as it was originally named, is the famed gathering place that has fed, watered, and kept the secrets of all who ventured through since 1888, and now, thanks to new owners Tilley & Wills Hotels, it will once again take its rightful place on Brisbane’s centre stage.
